The Labor and Employment Section of the Chicago Chapter of the Federal Bar Association invites members to a free event on litigating noncompetition agreement cases in federal versus state court. You are invited to bring your own lunch. Outside beverages and liquids are not permitted in the courthouse, but a cafeteria is available on the second floor.

The topic is litigating noncompetition agreement cases in federal versus state court. The discussion will include a discussion of Fifield v. Premier Dealer Services, the Illinois appellate court decision stating a bright line rule that two years of continued employment is necessary for at-will employment to be adequate consideration to support such an agreement, and the differing federal court opinions regarding Fifield.

Experienced practitioners are particularly encouraged to attend. With attendance limited to 20, a dialog with attendees will be encouraged.
