The Labor and Employment Section of the Chicago Chapter of the Federal Bar Association invites members to a free event on an employment law issue of interest. You are invited to bring your own lunch. Outside beverages and liquids are not permitted in the courthouse, but a cafeteria is available on the second floor.
The topic is NLRA Issues in a Non-Union Workforce. Although the focus of the National Labor Relations Act (NLRA) over the years has been on union-related issues, the NLRA protects employee concerted activity of non-union employees as well. The NLRB has been addressing such issues more frequently in recent years. This discussion will cover key areas that practitioners should know about the applicability of the NLRA to a non-union setting, such as employer policies regarding confidentiality, limitations on employee use of social media, and mandatory arbitration policies.
With attendance limited to 18, a dialog with attendees will be encouraged. Experienced practitioners are particularly encouraged to attend.
