Updates and Evaluations of the Mandatory Initial Discovery Pilot Program
Wednesday, June 13, 2018
4:00 pm - 5:30 pm
1.5 Illinois MCLE
Co-Sponsored by the Seventh Circuit Pilot Program on Electronic Discovery
Beginning one year ago, the Mandatory Initial Discovery Pilot Program went into effect in the Northern District of Illinois, creating a new set of early discovery disclosure responsibilities and obligations on the vast majority of civil litigants appearing in cases filed in the District. Join us to discuss and reflect on the first year of the MIDP.
Judges Dow and St. Eve will provide a refresher course on the MIDP and how it has worked in its first year. Sheri Mecklenburg, the Chair of the Judicial Advisory Committee on the MIDP, will share the results of the survey responses from attorneys with cases subject to the MIDP.
The event will close with a panel discussion by practitioners from various areas of practice experienced in working under the MIDP, including a discussion of the implications for parties’ eDiscovery obligations.
Registration & Seating
The first 240 people to register will be seated in the Ceremonial Courtroom, 2525. After that, the next 120 people to register will be seated in Overflow Room #1, Courtroom 2503 (subject to change).
This program will not be available by live stream. It will be available after the program by video, but there is no CLE available in conjunction with watching the video.
